The name SORATAMA has indigenous roots, belonging to a Muisca princess from the Andean region of Colombia. Soratama is a historical figure associated with indigenous chieftains, and her name was chosen by the hotel's founders, the Robledo family, to honour this cultural heritage.

The Soratama Hotel was founded in the 1960s by a well-known family in the region, who saw the need for a lodging establishment that could match the amazing progress that was beginning in Pereira, the capital of Risaralda. From the beginning, the hotel was considered the best in the region, offering high quality services and becoming a point of reference for visitors and locals.

After approximately thirty years of management, on February 19, 1992, the hotel was acquired by another family from the region. Since then, they have dedicated themselves to modernizing and remodeling the hotel, preserving its original architecture as Architectural Heritage of the city, but adapting it to contemporary needs. Today, the Soratama Hotel is an elegant and welcoming establishment, completely renovated to offer maximum comfort to its guests.
